ECOTOURISM FOR CONSERVATION EDUCATION

spons

The project creates meaningful nature-based experiences that immerse children, youth, and communities in Uganda’s wildlife and natural landscapes. Through guided birdwatching trips, national park visits, and community nature walks, the project enables participants to experience the beauty, diversity, and importance of the natural world firsthand.

These encounters strengthen environmental awareness and inspire a lifelong commitment to conservation.

What We Do

  • Deliver conservation lessons in schools
  • Conduct nature walks and birdwatching trips
  • Train youth in environmental leadership
  • Establish school nature clubs
  • Promote hands-on learning about ecosystems

Why It Matters

Many children and youth, especially in rural areas, have never visited a national park or experienced wildlife up close. By bridging this gap, the project:

  • Builds deep appreciation for wildlife and biodiversity
  • Encourages responsible behaviour toward natural habitats
  • Strengthens environmental knowledge through real-world experience
  • Inspires future careers in tourism, conservation, guiding, and ecology
  • Supports the development of youth eco-leadership

Exposure to nature is a powerful motivator—when young people experience it, they are far more likely to protect it.

Bee Keeping
for Conservation

The Beekeeping for Conservation Project promotes sustainable beekeeping as a tool for ecological protection and community empowerment. Using our natural forest apiary, we train learners and farmers in beekeeping techniques that protect pollinators and support local ecosystems.
